Tote Bags
I love tote bags. In fact, it's more like an addiction. I mean after all, you can't have too many tote bags. I've been using resuable tote bags for about 20 years. I really dislike plastic bags. At, first I just bought my bags. You know, whatever the store had hanging up on display. As the bags started to wear, I thought, why don't I just make my own. I can use whatever fabric and print I want to make them unique. I use them for all sorts of things. Going to the grocery store, the library, post office, pool, and so much more. Here are 2 that I recently made. They are also reversible. I will be making more and posting in my Etsy store.

Store Is Open!!
I finally did it! I took a leap and opened my Etsy shop! I was hoping my daughter would take the photos for me as she is very good at taking pictures. But, she was busy with friends all weekend as all 14 years are. I went outside with a large utility tote with all of my finished products. I ended up taking like 118 photos! I didn't think it was that many until I downloaded them from my phone to my laptop. I have around 45 items (give or take) listed for sale on Etsy. Can you guess my shop name? Craft Scrappy, of course. Please, stop by and check it out. While supplies last, I will be giving a free pink angel ornament with every order, in memory of my Aunt Beth, who passed away from breast cancer Easter Sunday 2018 at age 48. Still Here!
Hey everyone. I am still here. I've been busy working on some birthday gifts for my nephew and 2 nieces. I am also working on setting up a shop on Etsy. It's taking a big longer as I would rather be sewing than taking photos, downloading them to my laptop and adding them to my shop. Hopefully, I will have some things up in the next couple of days. I'm hoping my wonderful daughter would be willing to take some photos for me. She loves photography and does a way better job than I do, which she loves to remind me of that, lol.
I decided to take the next step in selling my items from Justina. I've only known her since February but she has been a huge supporter of my projects. Every time she sees some thing new I created, she's like, you have to sell these. So, I will jump in and see where it takes me. I would like to just be able to support my sewing addiction, ha! ha! and to able to donate to my community. So, please bear with me and as soon as I have my store up and running, you will be the first to know.
Have a great weekend. Hopefully, we will have a relatively dry weekend where I am. So far this year, we've had like 61 days of rain this year and had over 17 inches of rain which is around 4 inches more than our average to date.

Zipper Pouches
I love zipper pouches! I have about 3 in my handbag alone. I have a first aid kit, candy/mint bag, and a pens/notebook/calendar bag. My kids have a bunch for school supplies, phone accessories, toys, etc. I make them in different sizes so you can use them for just about anything. My son, Ryan, made a few as a fundraiser. He sold them to donate money to our local Ronald McDonald's House in Hershey, PA. When I'm in rut with sewing and not sure what to make, I just make some zipper pouches. I've made so many I could probably do them in my sleep, lol! Here are some of the few I've made and have available to sell.

Giving Back
I love giving back to my community. I enjoy volunteering. When my kids were in elementary school, (2010-2018) I was involved with their classes. I came in once a week and helped the students with spelling, math, etc. whatever they were currently working on. I was a Mystery Reader a few times during Dr. Seuss week. My favorite thing to do was being a chaperone for field trips. I've been to the Philadelphia Zoo, Gettysburg, camping and other trips.
I've been a Girl Scout leader for my daughter's troop since Feb 2012. I also volunteer at our local community library about 2-3 times a month for about 2 hours each shift.
Our library also hosts a Spring Fling Silent Auction. Businesses and individuals donate items for guests to bid on. I've donated things throughout the years. In the past, it was crocheted items, like afghans and 13 inch dolls that I crocheted outfits for. This year, I sewed up a few items. I donated 2 different sets. First, was a drawstring bag, with a zipper pouch and travel tissue packet holder. The other one, was a cinch sac in Minnie Mouse print with a zipper pouch.
I think it's very important to give back to our communities. This past Saturday our United Way hosted their annual Day of Caring. For the 2nd year in a row, our Girl Scout troop participated. We headed over to the next town and picked up litter at a park. It was fun and as a treat, we went to Wendy's for lunch.

Pete the Cat
I LOVE Pete the Cat! Who doesn't? He is so cool, when he is rockin in his new school shoes. I came across some fabric in Pete the Cat print. I was so excited when I found it and knew it was going to be coming home with me. It took me a few days before I made anything from the fabric. It's always a little scary cutting fabric. Lol! I decided to make a cinch sac, 2 zipper pouches and 2 sunglass/eyeglass case.
I will be selling all of these items. The cinch sac is $15, zipper pouches are $6 each and the sunglass cases are $5 each.
The cinch sac measurements are: 13 inches wide x 16 inches tall.
Zipper Pouches: 8 1/4 inches wide x 6 1/4 inches tall.
6 1/4 inches wide x 4 inches tall.
Sunglass Cases: 3 3/4 inches wide x 6 inches tall.

Introduction

ZIPPER POUCH
Hello! I'm so excited to start my own blog. Let me introduce myself. I wear many hats throughout the day. I'm a wife to my husband Chris since 1996. We have 2 great kids, Hannah (14) and Ryan (12). We have a rabbit and a dog. I'm a Girl Scout leader for my daughter's troop. I've been a stay at home mom since our daughter was born, but in 2008 I started my home childcare business. I absolutely LOVED it. I stopped doing childcare in 2012.
I have been crocheting since I was a teenager and have sewed off and on throughout the years. When I was 29, I was diagnosed with Arthritis and in August 2017 with Small Fiber Neuropathy. At this point, it would be very difficult for me to hold down a job. Crafting has always been my favorite thing to do and now, has helped me deal with my health condition.
I love to crochet and sew though I can't always do it everyday. I can't keep everything I make so I decided to start selling my creations. Friends and family who have been recipients of my handmade things have told me I should sell them at craft fairs. I am thinking of trying my hand at craft fairs. I've sold some items on-line. I will be setting up a facebook page where I will keep you updated on my latest sewing projects.
Thanks for stopping by and please come back.
See you soon!
